"I am delighted that the friendship between our two countries is built upon common, shared principles and values, and a firm commitment to territorial integrity, the unity of our two territories, independence, and the sovereignty of our countries," emphasized Mrs. Wagnere on Saturday in Luanda, during her meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita.

In a press statement following this meeting, held on the sidelines of the 26th Extraordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU), she highlighted her country's determination to work toward consolidating and strengthening "the exemplary relations that have united the two countries for decades."

"I am truly delighted by this convergence and these highly constructive exchanges that consistently characterize our meetings," she added.

She pointed out that the two parties discussed "the consolidation of our relations and our various cooperation frameworks, but also our commitment on the regional and international stage 'for a more peaceful, more integrated and fairer world, a world that is also more prosperous'."

For his part, Mr. Bourita recalled that relations between the two countries "are strong, solid, and rooted in history," noting that Morocco has always stood by the DRC since its independence.

"It was also an opportunity for me to reiterate Morocco's firm and unconditional support for the sovereignty of the DRC, for national unity, and in support of all the measures it takes to defend its sovereignty against external interventions," he emphasized.

He added that this is "a position that we reiterate today: sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries are the foundations of peace and stability in Africa."

He explained that the meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss regional and multilateral issues, particularly in the context of the DRC's election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, acting "as a worthy representative of the African continent and a voice for Africa and Africa's interests within this UN body."

Mr. Bourita also stated that the upcoming Joint Commission meeting in Kinshasa will be an important milestone for bilateral relations.
