The City of Vista is now accepting applications for volunteer City commissions, boards, and committees. These advisory bodies play an important role in shaping City policies, programs, and priorities-and they rely on engaged residents to help guide Vista's future. Appointments are made by the Vista City Council, and terms vary by body. If you care about your community and want a seat at the table, this is your opportunity.

Application deadline: February 9, 2026. Youth applications are due April 27, 2026.

Adult Applicants (18+)

• Central Vista Business Improvement District Advisory Board
  One-year term
  (Vista business owners may apply even if they are not residents)
• Community Safety Commission
  Term expires March 31, 2027
• Investment Advisory Committee
  Three-year term
• Parks & Recreation Commission
  Term expires March 31, 2027

Youth Representatives

• Community Safety Commission - One-year term
• Parks & Recreation Commission - One-year term
• Planning Commission - One-year term
• Public Arts Commission - One-year term
• Youth Advisory Commission - Two-year term

Youth positions are a great way for young residents to gain leadership experience, learn how local government works, and contribute their perspective on issues that matter to Vista.
