Bridge deck replacement project set for Sept. 21 through early December

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo . - Morgan County Route W, southwest of Barnett, is set to close in late September to replace the deck (driving surface) of the bridge over Indian Creek.

Construction crews, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, plan to close the bridge to all traffic beginning the morning of Sept. 21 , and it will remain closed through early December . A signed detour will direct motorists via Morgan County Route AA, Missouri Route 52, and Morgan County Route Y.

Built in 196 5 , the supporting structures of the bridge are in good condition . The driving surface , however, has deteriorated, is in poor condition, and needs to be replaced. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
