Community Tree Care Program Now Available to Nampa Residents thanks to TVCN

The City of Nampa is excited to partner with the Treasure Valley Canopy Network (TVCN) to provide tree care and removal to eligible Nampa citizens. The goal of the Community Tree Care Program is to improve the long-term resilience of the urban forest by investing in its maintenance.

Caring for trees as they age and decline can be cost-prohibitive. Thanks to funding from the U.S. Forest Service, TVCN is able to partner with local tree care companies to provide tree work and removal to those who meet eligibility requirements.

TVCN's Program Director Emma Stammer said, "Treasure Valley Canopy Network (TVCN) is excited to provide the Community Tree Care Program across the valley. Supported by funding from the U.S. Forest Service, the Community Tree Care Program will fund needed tree care work at the homes of residents who qualify. In addition to planning for and planting trees, a healthy and thriving urban forest includes proper tree care and maintenance, a key component provided by TVCN's Community Tree Care Program."

"We are extremely grateful to TVCN for making this service available to Nampa residents," said City Forester Adam Mancini. "This is a much-needed program and will provide significant benefits to numerous individuals in our community."

To be eligible for the program, the applicant must be the primary owner and occupant of the property, the household's annual income must be 60% or less of the area's median income, the home must be within the program boundaries, and the requested tree work needs to be deemed necessary by TVCN's contract arborist.
