Announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the “Global Sumud Flotilla” (02.10.2025)
The 27 Greek citizens participating in the "Global Sumud Flotilla," sailing towards the conflict zone of Gaza, are in good health and there are no indications that violence has been used against them. According to information received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, the flotilla's vessels, escorted by Israeli ships, are safely sailing to the port of Ashdod, where registration and deportation procedures for the passengers will follow.
Our Ambassador in Tel Aviv will visit the Greek citizens. In recent days, as well as today, the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs made démarches to the Israeli authorities concerning the protection of the Greek citizens participating in the mission.
In coordination with other countries whose nationals also participate in the flotilla and are located in Israel, the necessary actions will be made to the Israeli authorities and consular assistance will be provided.
