Cary, NC - Winter Storm Fern has left and Cary is scaling its response to transition back to normal operations - thanks in large part to the quick work of its A-Team. Crews have treated intersections, primary and secondary streets, and gone into neighborhood streets and cul-de-sacs based on curbside collection routes. Effective at 8 p.m. today, Cary's Emergency Operations Center will close. Cary's A-Team will staff a skeleton crew overnight to respond to slick spots and historically icy areas. Since Fern moved into our area, nine weather-related crashes were reported, all with non-life-threatening injuries. Cary 311 had 29 weather-related non-emergency cases.
Reopening Facilities and Resuming Services
While conditions have improved significantly, drivers are reminded that slick spots may still exist, particularly on shaded roads, bridges, and neighborhood streets. Use caution, and view Cary's live traffic cam and live traffic map to see the real-time status of Cary streets.
