ICE deports 2 criminal illegal aliens wanted by Mexico for homicide

HOUSTON - ICE deported Agustin Morales-Renteria and Juan Becerra Ruiz, both 24-year-old criminal illegal aliens, to their home country of Mexico, July 21. where they are wanted for aggravated homicide and intentional homicide, respectively.

Deportation officers from ICE's Houston Field Office transported both aliens from the Montgomery Processing Center in Conroe, Texas, to the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge in Laredo, Texas, where Mexican authorities assumed custody of them.

"Under my watch, Southeast Texas will never become a safe haven for dangerous criminal illegal alien foreign fugitives like these two, regardless of the misinformation and lies being spread over the past couple of weeks by open borders and anti-immigration enforcement groups trying to demonize our officers and undermine our mission," said ERO Houston acting Field Office Director Gabriel Martinez. "In conjunction with our partners, our officers continue to drown out the noise and give everything they have to enforce our nation's immigration laws without prejudice, while prioritizing enforcement actions that enhance public safety, national security, and border security. As a result of their efforts, these two fugitives will now face justice for their alleged crimes, providing closure to the friends and families of their alleged victims."

Morales-Renteria first entered illegally on or about Sept. 21, 2021, and was expelled the same day according to COVID-19 health protocols in place at the time under Title 42. After a regional attorney general's office in Mexico issued a warrant for his arrest for aggravated homicide on Oct. 19, 2021, he illegally reentered the U.S. on or about Oct. 15, 2021, to evade prosecution. On Dec. 4, 2024, ICE encountered Morales-Renteria at the sheriff's office in Jackson County, Missouri, following his arrest for tampering with a motor vehicle and felony possession of a controlled substance. However, Biden's immigration enforcement priorities in place at the time justified prosecutorial discretion and no action was taken. On Nov. 4, 2025, Morales-Renteria was convicted of being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and sentenced to 18 months in federal prison. Following his sentence, Morales was transferred into ICE custody May 21. An immigration judge ordered him removed from the U.S. on July 2, and ICE officers removed him on July 21.

Becerra Ruiz illegally entered the U.S. on an unknown date and location. On Oct. 21, 2022, a warrant was issued for his arrest in Querétaro, Mexico, for intentional homicide. In May 2026, the U.S. Border Patrol received notice of the warrant for arrest by Mexico and of his location in the Houston area. On June 4, Border Patrol agents detained Becerra during a traffic stop in Spring, Texas, and transferred custody of him to ICE officials. On June 30, an immigration judge ordered Becerra removed to Mexico and ICE officers completed the order on July 21.
