September 8, 2026 - PORTALES, NM - Building upon a strong trajectory of academic momentum, Eastern New Mexico University announced its official fall 2026 enrollment data today, highlighting a record-breaking student headcount with broad gains across undergraduate transfers and graduate cohorts.
ENMU's total student headcount reached 6,132 for the fall semester, marking a 2.2 percent increase compared to 6,002 students at the same point last year. This headcount breaks the fall 2017 enrollment milestone of 6,027.
"Our continued growth speaks volumes about the learning environment created by our faculty and staff," said Dr. James Johnston, ENMU chancellor. "When students find a welcoming community and clear pathways to their career goals, the word spreads. We are proud to see more students choosing ENMU to build their future."
