Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will visit Lisbon on 27-29 May. During his visit, he will meet Portugal's Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Miguel Pinto Luz and Minister of Defence Nuno Melo and speak at a business event held by AICEP Portugal, which promotes international engagement.

Alongside bilateral and current political issues, the Ministers will discuss strengthening cooperation between Finland and Portugal in infrastructure, the defence industry and high technology. Ten Finnish companies from different sectors will participate in the programme in Portugal.

In addition to high-level meetings, Minister Tavio's programme in Lisbon will include attending a business roundtable hosted by Portugal's Trade and Investment Agency (AICEP) to bring together major businesses from the two countries.

"When it comes to industry and technology, the relations between Finland and Portugal have become closer in recent years, and this mission will reinforce the positive development. There is a growing demand among Finland's leading companies for strategic and commercial cooperation," Minister Tavio says.
