City of Simi Valley Seeks Public Input on Draft Report Detailing Housing and Community Services

The City of Simi Valley has released its Draft Fiscal Year 2024-25 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for public review and comment. The CAPER describes the City's progress in supporting affordable housing and services for low- and moderate-income households, and explains how federal funds were used during the program year. The report also provides a summary of resources and accomplishments, an update on actions taken to carry out the City's Consolidated Plan, and a self-evaluation of the year's results. During the 2024-25 program year, the City invested more than $700,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to support local improvements and services. Street upgrades were completed in neighborhoods near Erringer Road and Los Angeles Avenue. These improvements included Patricia Street, Patricia Avenue, Williams Street, and Donville Avenue, benefiting a total of 2,765 residents, including 1,950 low- to moderate-income individuals. In addition, the Samaritan Center provided case management and homelessness resources to 126 individuals, while Conejo Valley Senior Concerns and the Housing Rights Center delivered vital social services to 186 low- and moderate-income residents. The draft report will be available for public review beginning Friday, August 29, through Monday, September 15, 2025. Copies may be reviewed at the City Clerk's Office at 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, at the Simi Valley Library at 2969 Tapo Canyon Road, and on the City's website at https://www.simivalley.org. Community members are encouraged to share feedback during the review period. Written comments may be emailed to [email protected]. In addition, public comments will be accepted at the City Council meeting on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the item is heard.
