Illinois Power Agency Launches IPA Blog to Inform the Public on Timely Energy Topics

The Illinois Power Agency (IPA) has launched the IPA Blog, a new communications platform designed to highlight timely energy-related themes and topics connected to the Agency's work. The IPA Blog will offer plain-language explainers, program updates, and analysis from IPA staff on topics relevant to Agency stakeholders.

This new resource will feature case studies, data-driven insights, and sector trends, serving as a centralized resource for readers seeking information on key energy issues, policies, and programs.

The inaugural blog post, published in May 2026, explores a question many ComEd customers may have about their electric bills: What is the Carbon-Free Energy Resource Adjustment (CFRA), and why does it appear on monthly ComEd bills? The post explains how the CFRA was established through the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, and how it has provided ComEd customers a net credit of over $2.126 billion on their electricity bills since the initiative began operating in 2022.
