SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - Shepherd University students, faculty, and staff gathered on February 11, 2026, in the University's former dining hall to celebrate the spirit of connection and cultural exchange at the Valentine's Day Fiesta. The event honored the unofficial holiday with an evening of poetry, music, and community celebration.
More than 100 students participated in the event, which featured poetry readings in both English and Spanish and live musical performances, including clarinet, double bass, and vocal selections. Attendees also enjoyed Mexican food and participated in raffles.
The Valentine's Day Fiesta provided students with an opportunity to share their talents, celebrate cultural traditions, and build community. The strong turnout and enthusiastic participation underscored the event's success and its meaningful role in bringing the Shepherd community together.
The event was organized by the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and its Department of English, History, and Modern Languages.
