DENVER - The East Colfax Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project team in collaboration with The Fax Partnership and El Tamarindo will host a watch party and celebration of Colfax culture for the installation of the iconic station arch in East Denver at Syracuse Street. This will be the 25th & 26th of 32 total installations along the corridor and is the second arch lift in the historic East Colfax Neighborhood and East Colfax Cultural District. As only two more arch lift celebrations will occur in Denver, Syracuse will be the "antepenultimate" party. In addition to the lift, this event will feature a Latino trio dance performance and Colfax-themed poetry.
When: Tuesday, May 26
Where: Restaurante El Tamarindo (7700 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80220)
Note: Colfax Avenue will be closed between Rosemary and Spruce streets in both directions along Colfax Avenue for a crane to occupy the roadway and install the arch. Parking is available on side streets.
Additional Details:
Denver's East Colfax BRT project continues to mark progress with the installation of a station arch at Syracuse Street. The arches are a key design element for future BRT stops and have already become a prominent feature along the corridor. Only four arches remain to be installed in Denver - the final two sets are Monaco (estimated for June) and Uinta (July). Two additional arches will be installed at Havana Street in Aurora (August). Small business support is a key element to the project. The East Colfax BRT small business outreach team and The Fax Partnership celebrate this project milestone by promoting and supporting businesses in this culturally important area.
