On April 23, 2025, staff from the Development Services office, including maintenance and construction teams, gathered at the Papoose Road Improvement Project site for an on-site presentation. Department leadership provided insight into how internal teams coordinate and collaborate to deliver projects of this scale.
The Papoose Road ARDP (Asphalt Rock Dust Palliative) Project, located between Casa Grande and Maricopa, originated from a resident recommendation submitted through the Pinal County Transportation Improvement and Maintenance Program (TIMP). The project was reviewed and endorsed by the Transportation Advisory Committee and ultimately approved by the Board of Supervisors.
This project stands out for its fully in-house delivery-designed and constructed entirely by Pinal County Public Works staff. County personnel are managing all aspects, including design, surveying, mapping, right-of-way acquisition, funding, material procurement, and construction. Once complete, the improvements are expected to enhance traffic safety, reduce maintenance needs, improve flood control, and benefit local air quality. Completion is anticipated by late 2025.
