Rizzoli in top ten of the Newsweek Ranking World's Best Orthopaedic Hospitals

Newsweek magazine's annual ranking of the world's best hospitals by specialty has been published.

The Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna rises to ninth place in the world among orthopedic hospitals and third place in Europe, confirming its position at first place in Italy.

"We welcomed this international recognition with great satisfaction, which underscores the extremely high specialization of our Institute - commented Rizzoli General Director Andrea Rossi. - The opportunity to offer new treatment stems from the expertise of our professionals, the desire to jointly identify increasingly appropriate responses to patient needs, and the integration of care and research. Rizzoli is an Italian and international reference center for highly complex orthopedic pathologies, such as bone tumors, prosthetic infections, pediatric orthopedics, and complex reconstructions such as those for which 3D-printed prostheses are designed; it is a reality in constant transformation."

Newsweek's ranking comes from a study based on a survey methodology that considers three domains: the assessments of 40,000 experts, including physicians, hospital managers, and healthcare professionals, certifications acquired by hospitals, and the implementation of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs), a tool for assessing the quality of care through patient-reported outcome measures.
