Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Pays a Courtesy Call on Permanent Representative of Kenya to the AU

On 6 August, Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, paid a courtesy call on Amb. George M. Orina, Permanent Representative of Kenya to the AU.

Amb. Jiang stated that in April this year, the heads of state of China and Kenya agreed to elevate the bilateral relationship to a China-Kenya community with a shared future in the new era. China is willing to work with African countries, including Kenya, to promote the implementation of the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) meetings, to better benefit the people of China and Africa, and to promote high-quality China-Africa cooperation which will lead global South cooperation.

Amb. Orina warmly welcomed Amb. Jiang's assumption of his new post, stating that China-Africa cooperation has effectively promoted peace and development in Africa. He expressed his willingness to maintain close working contact with Amb. Jiang to promote the in-depth development of Kenya-China and Africa-China relations. Amb. Orina reaffirmed Kenya's firm commitment to the one-China principle.
