H.E. Minister Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi offers condolences on the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in the Barzan gas facility incident

His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Doha to offer condolences on the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in the incident in the Barzan gas supply facility in Ras Laffan.

DOHA, Qatar • 24 June 2026 - His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Doha to offer condolences on the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in the incident in the Barzan gas supply facility in Ras Laffan.

His Excellency Minister Al-Kaabi met His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Aamer, the Ambassador of Pakistan and conveyed his personal and heartfelt condolences as well as those of everyone in the State of Qatar's energy sector to the Ambassador, the Government, and the people of Pakistan.

Expressing solidarity with the people of Pakistan, His Excellency said: "The loss of innocent lives is a tragedy that touches all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victim who lost his life during this tragic incident. We pray for the speedy recovery for those who were injured."

One Pakistani national was among 13 people who lost their lives in the unfortunate explosion and fire, on Sunday 21 June 2026, at the Barzan local gas supply facility at Ras Laffan Industrial City. 66 people were also injured in the incident, none with life-threatening injuries.
