Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin Attends “Central Asia — the Core of the SCO” International Conference and Holds Consultations with Tajik Foreign Ministry

On June 12, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin attended the "Central Asia - the Core of the SCO" International Conference in Dushanbe, met with Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, and held consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister Idibek Kalandar as part of the China-Tajikistan Foreign Ministry consultations.

When attending the international conference, Liu Bin stated that the Central Asian member states are the geographic heartland of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and contributors to its cooperation. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the SCO. Member states should fully implement the outcomes of the Tianjin Summit last year, carry out exemplary cooperation in putting the four major global initiatives into practice, and turn Central Asia into a blessed land of lasting peace, common prosperity and all-round stability.

During the meetings and consultations with the Tajik side, Liu Bin stated that President Emomali Rahmon paid a successful state visit to China not long ago, and the two heads of state made new plans for the development of the China-Tajikistan comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era. China is ready to work with Tajikistan to implement the common understandings reached by the two heads of state and the Treaty on Long-Term Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries, and continuously bring cooperation in various fields to new heights.

The Tajik side stated that it attaches high importance to Tajikistan-China relations, firmly adheres to the one-China principle, supports China's global initiatives, and is ready to work with China to implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state and continuously deepen good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation. The SCO has ensured the stability and development of Central Asia. Tajikistan is ready to promote solidarity and coordination within the heartland of the organization and contribute to its growth and development.
