"Well, good morning to everybody. Hope everybody made it back to work. I've got staff calling in sick for some reason today. Maybe they were up a little bit late last night. But, TrumpRx will bring down the cost of your prescription drugs 50 to 80% what they're going to do is bypass these pharmacy benefit managers, which consume at least 50% of the dollar. And the great thing is it's in effect now, usually when we write a law, it takes a year to two years till you see the benefit from it. So, it's up and running. So you go to Trump, just do a search for TrumpRx. It's going to take you to one of those 17 companies, big pharma companies, that he signed a contract with. And not every one of your medications will be available through it, but some of the most expensive ones will be. So, you'll be drawing it directly from the pharmacy, and you'll be avoiding these middlemen. And I think this will be the biggest game changer this year for the cost of health care."
"Well, I am concerned about, you know, killing the goose that laid the golden egg. These are miracle drugs. If you want me to save Medicare, if you want me to save healthcare, balance the budget, I need a miracle drug for Alzheimer's disease right now. So, I am concerned you start squeezing people, squeezing their profit margin. But President Trump has been working on this for over a year as well, and these are just discussions I had with Jameson Greer, our ambassador for us. He's the USTR, the trade representative, and we started talking about this well over a year ago. As he starts negotiating trade agreements to include this issue with them, much like tariffs, he is telling that we worked with these European companies. Say, look, you're not going to get that price anymore. You must come to the table, and then President Trump's going to match that price. So, this is the second part of the Trump plan. Most Favored Nations, forcing the drug companies to sell us at the best price, rather than given Europe a break as well. So, one of the great things about the Trump administration, they don't look at things in just silos again. For over a year, we were working on this most favored nation. We'll get Trump RX is done, and then we're working on getting most favored nation through Congress as well. But yeah, I am a little bit concerned about putting the squeeze right now. What we're seeing is the early, early, high-risk drug. People that invest in drugs are not investing right now. They're a little bit scared. Too much uncertainty out there."
On the potential government shutdown:
"So, if we don't have it figured out by Friday, there'd be a partial shutdown of the government. Think about 12 buckets of funding for the federal government. We've done 11 of them, and what we have sitting out here is DHS funding for all practical purposes. Look, Republicans need to stay strong that we are the party of law and order. Democrats are the party of defund the police. So, Chuck Schumer has said he's got a list of 10 demands. He wants ICE reform. He wants this. He wants that. He wants to defund ICE. Well, we got news for him because of the Working Family Tax Cuts bill, we funded ICE, and for the most part, the military for the next three years already, what they're going to hurt if they shut down DHS they're going to hurt funding for TSA, for the Coast Guard. Now there's one more big one that they're shutting down the funding for as well. FEMA funding. So, they're shutting down funding for that in thinking that they're going to shut down ICE, but they're not. So, this is all political. Republicans need to stay strong and not cave in. Last point I would make is that Barack Obama deported over 3 million people under the same rules that we have right now. The difference is we have sanctuary cities, which aid and abet the criminals. Right now, the sanctuary cities, in my opinion, is the problem, not the ICE rules."
"Yeah, you know, absolutely, you think about it, they've got nothing else really to stand on right now. They're rudderless, they're late. They're leaderless. They're lawless as well. And right now, despite what the national media saying, really, Pete, we're having some really big victories. You think about real wages are up right now. The price of gasoline is coming down. The federal government spending is down. People are going to get a record tax refund, probably $1,000 a family of an increased tax fund because we made those tax cuts permanent and retroactive to 2025 as well. So, the economy is growing at 4- 5%, so they're grasping at straws. They will do anything to do it again; it's their policy here of defund the police. And that's not going to work long term. We've had a couple of hiccups, I admit that with ICE, but defund the police is not a winning argument for them."
"No, I think it's going to be shut down. There's no way they give us a two-week window to negotiate this. They didn't come up with their demands until a week into it. So, for all practical purposes, you know, they gave us four or five working days to come to some type of conclusion. I'm going to kind of jump ahead here. This is a negotiation between Donald Trump and Chuck Schumer. Okay, the house doesn't really matter right now. So, the greatest negotiator we have right now is Donald Trump. This is his deal, and we know that he believes in law and order as well, so I don't think he's going to cave. How does Chuck Schumer save face right now? And I don't know how he's going to save face coming out of this negotiation by Friday."
"That's the ironic thing here is they're going to get paid. We have funded them through this Working Family Tax Cut. We circumvented some of the power thinking ahead when we did the Working Family Tax Cuts bill by funding them for three or four years. What's going to happen is the TSA folks are not going to be getting paid. You're still going to go the airport, but those guys are and gals are cranky already right from that long shutdown, not getting paid. And yes, they got retroactive pay, but when you're living paycheck to paycheck, and most, you know, most Americans do, and certainly TSA officers, so they're going to have to work because they're essential, they're not going to get paid. And I am really concerned what happens to FEMA. It's not firing on all cylinders yet either. And I think when you start and shut it down, and different pieces of FEMA get shut down, that's a problem. And the Coast Guard, even though they'll be working, they're not going to get paid. All right, this is all over with."
"Well, I remember Senator Roberts saying, jump on in. The water's nice and warm. So, you know we'll take her very seriously. She'll, she will be a good candidate for them. Probably the biggest thing is that she'll be able to print money. She will not get in this race unless Chuck Schumer has promised her an endless amount of money. You go back six years ago when we ran, I think the Democrats spent about $60 million against us, and we maybe had 15, but we still won by, I don't know, 12 or 13 points. So, I have confidence in this, but we're going to play like we're three points down with two minutes left. We're doing our statewide tour very soon. She just finished a five-stop statewide tour. We've been in every county, 105 counties in Kansas, at least five times so far, and we'll hit another. We'll be at 60 counties by the end of February as well, on our way to 105 before November. So come on in, the water's warm."
"Doing a so-called statewide tour, five stops is not exactly a statewide tour. So you know that Chuck Schumer is trying to lure her in. And, of course, you know the downside, you probably got King Jeffrey sitting there saying, look, if she's a slam dunk win, theoretically, if she has the incumbent there in the third district. So, are they going to open that up and put it into play? So, I think there's some jockeying between the two House and Senate, and, you know, maybe she's going to try to hold out for a better committee assignment. You know that now, this is the politics behind the scenes that I didn't really understand right now. So, she's jockeying for her play. You know, what are they going to give her when she loses? So, she runs for the Senate. I would bet on the Republicans in a statewide race for the Senate. But we're not taking it for granted. We are going to bust our buns. I'm going to hate myself by the end of these advertisements by November, because they'll just fill the airways with horrible advertisements that aren't true. So, we'll have to run through the race. We'll have to spend a lot of money that we could spend elsewhere on other races as well. So, I don't think that she's decided she's trying just to establish the price."
