EVB Supports U.S. Soldiers Overseas

At Elkhorn Valley Bank, making a difference often starts with people coming together to support those who need it most. Recently, our team had the opportunity to do just that for a group of deployed U.S. soldiers with a special connection to our community.

One of the soldiers currently serving overseas has close family ties to Norfolk, making this effort especially meaningful. After a supply station supporting the troops was bombed, many of the soldiers were left in need of personal hygiene products and other everyday essentials.

When we learned about the need, our employees stepped up. Together, we collected personal care items, snacks, and other essentials to send to the soldiers. Every donation shows these soldiers that people back home are thinking of them.

Some of the items donated:

• 52 sticks of deodorant
• 59 tubes of toothpaste
• 71 toothbrushes
• 46 bars of soap
• 20 bottles of shampoo and conditioner
• 75 bags of sunflower seeds/trail mix
• 50+ boxes of hydration drinks/flavor packets
• 23 packs of gum
• 39 lip balms

EVB was also proud to cover the cost of shipping the collected items overseas to help ensure the donations reached the soldiers.

While these packages provided practical necessities and a few comforts from home, we hope they delivered something even more meaningful- a reminder the soldiers have an entire community back home supporting them and appreciating their service.
