Agriculture and Energy Network Update for Friday, February 27, 2026

Date
Feb 27, 2026

Operational Performance
Wildfires that began early last week and burned approximately 300,000 acres across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles caused temporary service disruptions on portions of the Southern Transcon and Panhandle corridors, with flames advancing on BNSF right-of-way in several areas. Thanks to the swift response of our team members and strong coordination with local agencies, railroad assets were protected, and brief service adjustments were implemented to ensure safe operations.

In addition, BNSF crews completed scheduled infrastructure work last weekend, including bridge maintenance on the Marceline Subdivision in Missouri and the Stockton Subdivision in California's Central Valley, along with a switch installation in Kansas City. These planned work windows resulted in short-term service impacts but were completed as scheduled, and traffic flows have since normalized, with service performance and operating metrics improving and the network remaining fluid.

Service Expectations for the Week Ahead
Overall, network operating conditions are expected to remain favorable, with no major weather systems anticipated this weekend or into early next week.

As always, we thank you for your business and appreciate the opportunity to serve as your transportation service provider. We welcome your feedback and questions.
