Collaborative effort leads to arrest of three residential burglary suspects

January 31, 2025

GLENDALE, CA - On January 23, 2025, Glendale Police officers responded to the 1500 block of Parway Drive to investigate a reported residential burglary. While Glendale officers conducted their investigation, officers from the Burbank Police Department stopped a car with a fraudulent temporary California license plate. In that car, Burbank officers found jewelry, expensive handbags and cash. They also discovered multiple cellphones, masks, gloves and additional license plates not belonging to the car.

A Burbank officer who had been monitoring the Glendale Police Department's radio frequency earlier and had heard the residential burglary call go out contacted Glendale officers who confirmed that the property in the vehicle was stolen in the burglary. Subsequently, officers arrested the

vehicle's three occupants - Mia Sanchez Martinez, 25; Jose Basaure Aviles, 20; and Luis Gomez Gomez, 25 - for residential burglary. All arrestees are foreign nationals. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office charged all three with burglary.

Collaboration and partnership are critical to protecting our communities. The Glendale Police Department is grateful to the Burbank Police Department for its support.
