Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach has launched a dedicated webpage to provide vital public health and safety information, resources and various real-time updates in relation to the ongoing fires in Los Angeles County. With the fires affecting cities across the region, it is essential for the community to stay updated on the latest developments. To uplift community access to this information, the City has also temporarily activated its call center, available at 562.570.INFO (4636).
The webpage, available at longbeach.gov/emergency, serves as a centralized hub for community members to access information regarding air quality, health advisories, evacuation information, impacts to City services, and information call lines, among many other valuable resources. It also features real-time maps and widgets including the regularly updated Los Angeles County emergency evacuations map and air quality map. The webpage will be updated with pertinent updates related to public health and safety in Long Beach, as needed.
The City's call center is also operational. People with questions or in need of information or connections to resources can call 562.570.INFO (4636) to speak with a live person. The call center is open today, Jan. 10, 7:30 to 10 p.m. and will operate on Saturday, Jan. 11 and Sunday, Jan. 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. If able, the City encourages the community to check longbeach.gov/emergency for information before connecting with the call center.
The City continues to advise residents of the potential unhealthy air quality due to multiple fires in Los Angeles County, which continue to produce heavy smoke.
For more detailed information about air quality related to the wildfires, visit the South Coast Air Quality Management District's website at aqmd.gov or view a map of local real-time air quality data. If you would like to sign up for air quality forecasts, subscribe by visiting air quality alerts.
