Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services announced that the Firelands Hope Line will be discontinued, effective midnight March 21, 2026.
The Firelands Hope Line was made possible through the support of local mental health and addiction boards. In recent years, the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health has redirected this funding towards the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Due to this shift in funding, there is no longer sufficient support to maintain the Firelands Hope Line.
Anyone in need of immediate crisis intervention is urged to contact the 988 Lifeline, available 24/7, 365 days a year.
