UNF Board of Trustees Elects Steve Moore as 2026 Chair; Honors Kevin Hyde for Distinguished Service

The University of North Florida Board of Trustees today unanimously elected Trustee Steve Moore to serve as the next Chair of the Board effective Monday, Dec. 15, 2025.

After three terms of dedicated leadership, current Chair Kevin Hyde announced he will not seek re-election to the Board. Hyde's tenure spanned service under two university presidents and was marked by significant growth and achievement at UNF.

In recognition of his service, the Board honored Hyde with a $10,000 donation to the Kevin and Kathi Hyde Endowed Scholarship, ensuring his legacy of support for UNF students continues for years to come.

"Kevin Hyde has been a steadfast leader whose vision and commitment have guided UNF through a period of tremendous growth," said UNF President Moez Limayem. "His impact on our students and our university will be felt for generations."

Moore is president of The Vestcor Companies and was appointed to the UNF Board of Trustees by Governor Ron DeSantis in July 2022. He and his wife, Jennifer, are UNF alums and have lived and raised their four children in Jacksonville for the past 28 years.

Kevin Hyde is the Office Managing Partner of Foley & Lardner LLP in Jacksonville. He practices labor and employment law, working with employers to mitigate risks, prevent problems, and litigate on behalf of clients when their actions are challenged. He was appointed to the UNF Board of Trustees in 2021 by Governor Ron DeSantis.

The Board expressed its gratitude to Hyde for his years of service and welcomed Moore's leadership as UNF looks ahead to continued growth and innovation.
