City Program Explains Code Compliance Basics

The City's Office of Code Compliance is hosting two sessions of "Code Academy" to talk with residents about the role of code and zoning inspectors. Both sessions will take place at 5:30 pm on Mondays. The first session will be held on January 5 at Glenwood Recreation Center, 2010 Coliseum Blvd., followed by a second session on February 9 at Smith Active Adult Center, 2401 Fairview St.

Code compliance and zoning inspectors will provide an overview of the City's housing and nuisance codes, explaining what they cover and how violations are addressed. Topics include nuisances, housing standards, zoning regulations, front-yard parking, and illegal dumping.
