FedChoice Charitable Foundation Expands Educational and Community Support Through Vizo Financial Empowerment Grant

The FedChoice Charitable Foundation (FCF) is committed to making a positive impact in underserved communities across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. The Foundation is pleased to announce that it has received a $5,000 Financial Empowerment Grant from the Credit Union Foundation of Maryland and DC funded by Vizo Financial Corporate Credit Union, to further strengthen FCF's community-focused financial education and wellness initiatives.

The new grant will support a series of initiatives designed to empower students, educators,
and families:

  • Educational Scholarships and Teachers' Aid Program: Support for high
school graduates pursuing higher education, along with micro-grants that help K-12
    educators enhance classroom learning.
  • Youth Hygiene Drives: Providing essential hygiene supplies for students at Cora L.
Rice Elementary School and G. James Gholson Middle School.
  • Gholson Middle School Community Day & Spring Festival: Funding school
supplies, community activities, and family engagement resources during the annual
    event.
  • Nutritional Support at Oaklands Elementary School: Supplying healthy snacks
for students during MCAP testing to help them stay focused and energized.
  • PGCPS "Teen Parents Financial Literacy Project": Delivering school supplies,
basic care items, and financial literacy tools to support teen parents working toward
brighter futures for themselves and their families.

"Our charitable foundation builds bridges to communities in need, and we are so grateful
to Vizo Financial Corporate for providing the 'supplies' we will deliver through this generous
grant," said Brett Noll, President and CEO, FedChoice FCU. As stewards of the Financial Empowerment Grant, CU Foundation MD|DC and Vizo Financial emphasized the value of directing resources toward programs that create lasting, community-level impact.

"Addressing barriers to financial well-being is fundamental to our mission at the
Foundation," said Leigh Philibosian, Director, CU Foundation MD|DC. "The Vizo Financial
Empowerment Grant program has allowed us to help fund the work credit unions are doing
to help their members achieve a better quality of life. We congratulate the FedChoice
Charitable Foundation for the meaningful work they are doing through these programs and
the impact they will have in starting young students on the road to understanding how to
manage their finances to achieve their goals."

"This is year two that Vizo Financial's Empowerment Grants are helping the FedChoice
Charitable Foundation make a positive impact for young people and students in their
communities," said Erin Doan, Vizo Financial's VP of Administration. "The dollars spent to
make meaningful programs for those within the FedChoice Charitable Foundation and the
Credit Union Foundation MD|DC's reach is exactly what we had envisioned these grants
would offer in the name of cooperation and financial wellbeing. We're honored to have a
hand in making these initiatives a reality and thankful for the continued efforts of both
foundations in bringing the credit union philosophy to life."

Together, these initiatives advance FCF's mission to expand financial capability, support
the well-being of local families, and strengthen community resilience. With the combined
commitment of FedChoice Federal Credit Union and the FedChoice Charitable
Foundation, this grant will fuel programs that deliver real, measurable impact-
empowering students, educators, and families to build the strong financial futures they
deserve.
