Drivers should plan for additional time during each continuous weekend road closure. Roadway opening times are approximate and subject to change depending on weather and work zone conditions.
Drivers seeking to access BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport are advised to use alternate north-south routes such as I-95, US 1, or I-97 to reach I-195.
The State Highway Administration's contractor, R.E. Pierson Construction Company of New Jersey, will use electronic message boards, signs and barrels to safely guide drivers along the detour routes. The overall interchange reconstruction project completion is scheduled for Fall 2027, schedule and weather permitting.
