Notice of a Public Comment Period and Public Hearing

Project Location: Coreys Road, Town of Harrietstown, Franklin County

Project Description: Pursuant to ECL § 9-2103 National Grid has applied for a permit to extend electric distribution service across lands of the NYS Forest Preserve. The project will extend electrical distribution service 0.41 miles from existing electric service located on the northern part of Coreys Road to a residential property on Coreys Road. To extend service to the residential property, the applicant is seeking a permit to place the electric utility beneath the width of the Town Highway, Coreys Road, for a length of approximately 2,000 feet through New York State Forest Preserve. The project sponsor has determined that minimal tree removal will occur at the intersection of Coreys Road and no trees will be removed from State Forest Preserve land.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation will hold a virtual public hearing to receive comments on this project on Monday June 23rd, 2025, at 1PM via Webex.
