Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi welcomes Estonia’s decision to open an embassy in the Republic of Moldova
27 November 2025, Chișinău - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a telephone conversation today with Estonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Margus Tsahkna, who informed him of the decision of the Government in Tallinn to open an Embassy of Estonia in the Republic of Moldova.
"A very good piece of news for our country! This step by the Estonian authorities demonstrates how strong the relations between our countries are and the support for the Republic of Moldova on its path toward the European Union," Mihai Popșoi stated.
Mihai Popșoi thanked the Estonian Government for this initiative and reiterated the Republic of Moldova's interest in further strengthening political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, as well as collaboration in the fields of education, digitalization, and culture.
Estonia remains an important partner of the Republic of Moldova, providing support in various areas, particularly in e-governance, cybersecurity, and education.
