UNRWA Commissioner-General: Israeli Actions Undermine International Law and Threaten Refugee Services

From Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)

A new step in a pattern of deliberate disregard for international law and the United Nations.
Israeli forces stormed into an UNRWA health centre in East Jerusalem. This is a United Nations premises.
Israeli authorities then ordered the centre to close for 30 days, depriving Palestine Refugees of access to primary health care.
Meanwhile, water and power supplies to UNRWA facilities - including health and education buildings - are scheduled to be cut in the coming weeks.
This is a direct result of legislation passed by the Israeli parliament in December, which stepped up existing anti-UNRWA laws adopted in 2024.
The recent International court of Justice ruling restated that the State of Israel is obliged under international law to facilitate UNRWA's operations, not hinder or prevent them.
