M-58 (State Street)/Brenner Street intersection closing April 15 in Saginaw

SAGINAW, Mich. -The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close the eastbound M-58 (State Street)/Brenner Street intersection for additional storm sewer work on Wednesday, April 15, in Saginaw. The intersection is expected to reopen on Friday, April 17.

This work is a part of an approximately $13 million investment to rebuild 1.1 miles of eastbound M-58 (State Street) from Avalon Avenue to M-84 (Bay Street) in Saginaw. Work includes road rebuilding and paving, storm sewer installation, sidewalk and driveway improvements, and installing new traffic signals.

This work is weather dependent.

Northbound and southbound traffic will temporarily not be able to cross M-58 (State Street) through this intersection during this work.

Eastbound M-58 (State Street) is currently closed and detoured onto westbound M-58 (Davenport Avenue). Westbound M-58 was converted into a two-way road with a temporary center turn lane for the duration of this project.

This long-term investment will provide a smoother ride and extend the service life of the roadway.
