Louisiana Receives over $500 Million in FEMA Public Assistance Funds

Baton Rouge, LA - Today, Governor Jeff Landry announced that Louisiana is receiving over $500 Million from the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA). The public assistance funds will be used for critical projects to make Louisiana more resilient and help the state fully recover from storms of the past.

This funding covers 165 different projects, reimbursing our communities for disaster recovery costs tied to rebuilding public infrastructure and emergency protective measures. These projects include:

  • Utility Reliability by providing significant funding to the South Louisiana Electric Cooperative Association for permanent repairs and restoration of power distribution lines following Hurricane Ida.
  • Infrastructure Restoration with over $84 million for the West Belle Pass Barrier Headland Restoration project to protect our coast.
  • Water Security with more than $66 million for waterline replacement work in Jefferson Parish to ensure reliable access to clean water.

Landry. "I'd like to thank President Donald Trump, Secretary Kristi Noem, and the Louisiana delegation for helping secure $529,403,109 needed for these projects."
