City of Santa Cruz Invites Community to Open House on Sept. 30 for Santa Cruz Wharf Master Plan and Wharf Resilience Project

Santa Cruz, CA- The City of Santa Cruz invites residents, businesses, and community members to attend a Community Open House for the Santa Cruz Wharf Master Plan Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center, 35 Pacific Ave.

The event offers an opportunity to learn about the Wharf Resilience Project and provide input on proposed improvements and resiliency efforts that will help shape the future of one of Santa Cruz's most iconic landmarks.

Community members will be able to share feedback on:

  • Beautification and signage
  • Sustainability and resilience
  • Recreation, amenities, and accessibility
  • Business and visitor experience

Tony Elliot, Director of Parks & Recreation, said: "This open house is a chance for everyone-residents, local businesses, and visitors-to help guide improvements that will ensure the Wharf remains a safe, accessible, and vibrant hub for generations to come."

David McCormic, Asset & Development Manager, added: "Now is the time to find out what's happening and share your ideas. The Wharf Master Plan provides a guide, but your input now will help us design and prioritize improvements that make the Wharf better for everyone."

Community input will directly guide planning and implementation of the Wharf Master Plan to ensure improvements reflect local values and needs.
