Clark Avenue paving prep begins March 9

Published on March 08, 2026

On Monday, March 9, crews will begin preparation work for an upcoming paving project on Clark Avenue from Del Amo Boulevard to the northern city limits. The work includes concrete improvements, lowering manholes and installing curb ramps before paving begins in about a month.

Lane closures will affect traffic for approximately three weeks as the work moves north from Del Amo Boulevard.

Construction on Clark between City Hall and Lakewood Center is expected to last about one week, with the remaining work continuing north through early April.

What to expect:

  • Work hours: Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. Lanes will reopen after hours and on weekends, unless otherwise posted.
  • Traffic delays. Expect delays near Lakewood Center and City Hall. If visiting Albertson's, Home Depot or Best Buy, consider entering from Del Amo Boulevard or Candlewood Street. For City Hall, Iacoboni Library or The Centre, use Civic Center Way between Del Amo Boulevard and Candlewood Street.

Thank you for your patience.
