Black Swamp Arts Festival Downtown Road Closures

Street closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in Downtown Bowling Green for the annual Black Swamp Arts Festival, scheduled for Sept. 11, 12, and 13. Starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, the eastern portion of City Parking Lot 2 will be closed. The entire lot will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.

On-street parking will be prohibited starting at 3 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, in the following locations: Main Street between Clay Street and Pearl Street; Prospect Street between East Wooster Street and Washington Street; Clay Street between Main Street and Grove Street; East Court Street between Main Street and Prospect Street; Oak Street from Main Street to midblock; and Clough Street between Main Street and South Prospect Street. Any vehicle parked in these restricted areas after 3 a.m. on Friday will be towed at the owner's expense.

Main Street, between Clay Street and Pearl Street, will be closed to vehicular traffic at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11. While Main Street is closed, no through traffic will be permitted on Court Street, Clough Street, Oak Street, and Washington Street. Wooster Street will remain open for east and westbound traffic throughout the festival, and City Parking Lots 1, 3, and 4 will remain open.

Additional bike racks/bicycle parking will be located on North and South Main, at both ends of the event. During the Main Street closure, detour routes for local and truck traffic will be posted. Throughout the event, shuttle buses will pick up visitors at the Wood County Fairgrounds and Meijer. The buses will drop visitors off downtown at the Bowling Green Police Division. Additional public parking is available at the Wood County Courthouse. Handicap parking will be available in the remaining public parking lots and at the Carter House Parking Lot, 307 N. Church Street.

All streets will reopen, and parking will be reinstated on Sunday evening.
