Karas elected to American College of Healthcare Executives Council of Regents

Katrina Karas, FACHE, vice president and cardiovascular and neurosciences service line leader for Kaleida Health, has been elected to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

The council provides advice and counsel to the Board of Governors and is responsible for electing the board and its chair. Through the council's support, the board steers the national organization and carries out ACHE's mission to advance its members and healthcare leadership excellence.

Karas began her term on February 28, 2026, during the Council of Regents meeting held in conjunction with ACHE's Congress on Healthcare Leadership. Karas will represent ACHE's membership in Northern and Western New York.

Karas joined Kaleida Health in April 2024 after serving as vice president of the Sands-Constellation Heart Institute at Rochester Regional Health (RRH). She also served as associate vice president of cardiac services as well as operations director of cardiology at RRH. Karas was previously director of ambulatory, transplant and renal services at ECMC as well.

She has a bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania and a Master of Health Administration from The Ohio State University. Karas serves on the Board of Directors for the Great Falls Council of Scouting America. In addition, she is a Leadership Buffalo graduate.
