Norman Police Arrest Three in connection with Overnight Burglary

July 31, 2026

The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 1800 block of Hollow Crest Court at approximately 1:26 a.m. on July 31.

When officers arrived, they observed a suspicious vehicle and multiple individuals in front of the residence. Officers attempted to make contact with the individuals and ordered them to stop. Three individuals fled from the scene, while one individual, later determined to be the driver of the vehicle, remained and was taken into custody.

As the three individuals fled, they fired multiple shots in the direction of responding officers. No one was struck by gunfire, and officers located no injuries or property damage. No shots were fired by officers during the incident.

Officers quickly established a perimeter and began searching the nearby wooded area for the three outstanding suspects. Using drones and field search assets, officers located and arrested two of the suspects in the wooded area east of the residence. One suspect remains outstanding.

The initial investigation indicates the incident may be related to illegal drug activity.

The incident remains under investigation by the NPD Criminal Investigations Division.

NPD appreciates the support and mutual aid provided by the Moore Police Department, University of Oklahoma Police Department, Oklahoma Attorney General's Office, and the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office during the response and subsequent search.
