Kenny Chesney Embraces 'Human Connection' With Intimate Pop-Up Show — Watch The Highlight Moments

Kenny Chesney marked the debut of his 21st studio record with a sold-out album release pop-up show at an intimate venue in Nashville, Tennessee.

Chesney took the stage at The Pinnacle, a 4,500 capacity space, to celebrate Silver Sands Marina on Friday (September 25). The Country Music Hall of Fame member delivered his 11-track album after three years in the making. He delivered renditions of career-spanning hits throughout the sold-out show, plus some of the songs that appear on his newest project. He reflected while speaking with the audience that he'd hoped to earn at least one No. 1 hit in his career to make his East Tennessee hometown proud. To date, he's scored 33 No. 1s. Chesney's 22-song set list included "Summertime," "Here and Now," "Beer In Mexico," "Save It For A Rainy Day," Silver Sands Marina tracks "Burn My Boat," "Goldfish," "Talkin' Dirt," and more.

"Having listened to some of these tracks for two, three years," Chesney said in a press release, "it was time for them to live out in the open. Playing those three songs back-to-back reminds me that it's when the song meets the band and the people who love this music, we create a whole new relationship with the songs. There's how we feel it, how people listening experience it - and what happens when we're together.

"One of the things I've learned from talking to people about this record, the songs they've leaned into is how hungry we all are to be together, that human connection - and the desire to turn down all the things that divide us," Chesney said. "I put 'Get Along' and 'Everything's Gonna Be Alright' into the set, too, because it hit me, that's what people are seeking - and all the interviews I've done feel like the songs on Silver Sands Marina fill that void."

Chesney's sole surprise guest of the evening was singer-songwriter Greylan James, who co-wrote the title track of Chesney's 2024 studio record, Born. The pair performed that song for the sold-out crowd at the Pinnacle on Friday evening. Chesney shared that his mother, a retired hairdresser, used to cut James' hair when he was growing up in East Tennessee. James previously shared that he's looked up to Chesney for years, and now, he's joining the country megastar on his stadium tour in 2027. "Country music runs on dreams," Chesney said after his album release show on Friday evening. "And life runs on music. Over the years, it's about how do you put the positivity, the philosophy, the hard stuff and the sheer joy into the world without preaching. Wherever people are, whatever people need - whether it's a good time, a postcard to remember or somebody laughing about the gossip - I hope that's what we're putting out there. It's what drew me to town, and it's what keeps me seeking songs and taking this pirate ship out on the road."
