City of West Hollywood Community Safety Partners to Conduct Full-Scale Emergency Response Drill at West Hollywood Park on Wednesday, April 29

The City of West Hollywood is getting the word out about an emergency response drill that will be conducted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in and around West Hollywood Park, located at 647 N. San Vicente Boulevard.

Please be advised that there is no real emergency or threat to the community. This emergency response drill is a simulated training exercise.

The drill will impact southbound lanes of N. San Vicente Boulevard, which will be closed to traffic from Santa Monica Boulevard to Melrose Avenue. El Tovar Place will also be closed between N. Robertson Boulevard and N. San Vicente Boulevard.

This full-scale exercise is designed to simulate a coordinated emergency response and will include participation from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and City of West Hollywood staff.

During the drill, community members may notice a significant presence of emergency vehicles, personnel, and activity in and around West Hollywood Park, West Hollywood Library, adjacent parking garages, and the West Hollywood Park Aquatic and Recreation Center (ARC).

Officials emphasize that this is only a training exercise and that there is no real emergency or threat to the community. Public notifications, including community outreach, email notifications, social media posts, and a Nixle alert from the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station, will be issued to help ensure residents and businesses are aware of the drill.

As part of the exercise, the City's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at West Hollywood City Hall will be activated in a real-time coordination drill. This provides an important opportunity for first responders and City personnel to practice emergency protocols, strengthen coordination, and enhance overall preparedness for a real emergency.

Community members are encouraged to plan for temporary traffic impacts. The City of West Hollywood and its community safety partners appreciate the community's understanding and cooperation.
