ATLANTA (January 23, 2026) - This week, Sen. Jason T. Dickerson (R-Canton) was appointed to the Senate Energy and Environment Committee of the Council of State Governments Southern Office (CSG South) by Senate President Pro Tempore Larry Walker, III (R-Perry). CSG South is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization that provides support and resources to Southern state leaders, helping them share ideas and strengthen leadership across the region. The Energy and Environment Committee of CSG South addresses specific issues related to natural resources in the South and the crucial role they play in the region's economic prosperity.
"I am excited to collaborate with our neighboring Southern states as we work to strengthen conservation efforts and support our farmers," said Sen. Dickerson. "I know how much hard work and dedication it takes to preserve Georgia's natural resources and agricultural heritage. Serving on this committee will allow me to address the real-world challenges faced by our farmers, agricultural workers and the people who work every day in conservation and responsible energy development. I look forward to bringing a strong Georgia perspective to the table, and I am grateful to Sen. Walker for the opportunity to serve on a committee that so closely aligns with my priorities."
On the Senate Energy and Environment Committee of CSG South, Sen. Dickerson will work with lawmakers from states across the Southeast, including Mississippi, Kentucky, Louisiana, the Carolinas and Arkansas. Sen. Dickerson's new role will bring practical, region-tested solutions back to Georgia to strengthen the state's economy and conserve its natural resources.
