Sign up youth for the 3-on-3 basketball tournament on May 30

Sign up ages 8-18 solo or with a team of up to 5. Ages 5-7 can join a mini clinic, and 3-point contests are available for ages 10-13 and 14-18.

Youths between the ages of 8 and 18 can compete to be Berkeley's 3-on-3 playground basketball champs.

Registered players will be split into five separate age divisions. Every team is guaranteed two refereed games. Parents or guardians can register them as individuals, with a buddy, or as part of a team with up to four other players.

The tournament also features a 3-point contest for ages 10 to 18 and a skills clinic for kids ages 5 to 7.

Spots are limited, so sign up to save yours. If there's room, we will accept walk-up registration on tournament day.

Register online by May 29 at 5:00 pm. Limited spots may be available in person on tournament day, May 30, 8:00 am-9:00 am.

Tournament schedule, age divisions, and participant perks

Players and families can expect a full day. The five age divisions are: 8-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18. Eighteen-year-old participants must still be in high school.

All participants get a jersey, lunch, a basketball, and raffle tickets. Division champions will also receive championship rings.

May 30 Tournament Schedule

• 8:00 am - Check-in and pre-registration
• 9:00 am - Welcome, 3-Point Contest, and Mini Skills Clinic
• 10:00 am - First round of games begins
• 12:00 pm - Lunch break
• 1:00 pm - Single elimination rounds start
• 3:00 pm - Championship games
• 5:00 pm - Awards ceremony

Mini-Skills Clinic and 3-point Contest

Use our online recreation portal to sign up for the mini skills clinic and 3-point shooting contest.

Young players ages 5-7 can join a mini-skills clinic from 9:00 to 10:00 am to practice dribbling, shooting, and passing with expert coaches.

Since 2012, the Bill & Celina Rose Tournament honors longtime neighborhood leaders who played a key role in bringing three full-size outdoor basketball courts to the park.

This event is organized by the City's Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront Department, which offers a variety of camps, classes, and activities catering to diverse age groups and socioeconomic backgrounds. See more opportunities on our events calendar.
