Salesforce Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Loops

October 12, 2026 2 min read

Salesforce, the #1 AI CRM, today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Loops, an AI-powered analytics platform that continuously monitors business performance, explains why key metrics change, and surfaces opportunities to improve by leveraging machine learning models.

Tableau is helping customers move from the data driven enterprise to the agentic analytics enterprise. Loops's AI advances that, by explaining why it happened and what to do next. The acquisition will advance Salesforce's agentic analytics strategy, helping customers identify what drives business performance, prioritize actions, and move from insight to action in the flow of work. With headless, agentic capabilities, Loops can be triggered directly from Slack and email to continuously monitor key performance indicators, identify trends and anomalies, and proactively surface what's driving change.

"Tableau's mission has been helping people see, understand and act on data. Loops accelerates this mission, using powerful agentic AI to uncover the drivers behind business performance and surface where teams and agents can take action in real time," said Mark Recher, EVP & GM, Tableau. "Following close, we look forward to bringing these capabilities to Tableau and helping customers turn insights into action faster."

"We built Loops around a simple idea: analytics should help businesses understand what drives their results and decide what to do next," said Tom Laufer, CEO and Co-Founder of Loops. "Salesforce and Tableau share our vision for making actionable analytics accessible for every organization. Together, we'll have the opportunity to bring what we've built to customers at an entirely new scale."

Following the close of the transaction, Salesforce plans to bring Loops's technology and specialized talent into Tableau, helping customers uncover trusted insights and make smarter decisions from their data.

The transaction is expected to close in early November of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
