On illegal aliens receiving taxpayer-funded healthcare:
"Chris, I don't think you're going anywhere wrong. I think it's very obvious that states like California do everything they can to use federal dollars for free health care for illegal migrants. I think it's, it's very evident, and, you know, we tried to address it at different points, but we couldn't even get done through reconciliation, because the parliamentarian wouldn't let us. So we were just, we'll keep fighting at it though."
"Yeah, Chris, well, number one is we need to address the fraud. There's probably $35 billion of fraud within Obamacare right now, and we do that very simply by starting to check IDs. What is, what a novel ID that would be? I think next is we would take part in these Biden subsidy plans, these enhanced subsidies, and start putting them into patients' health care accounts, and let you make the choice. Let patients start making the choices. We couple that with price tags. We force healthcare providers to tell patients what something is going to cost. So we put money in a healthcare savings account, rather than giving it to insurance companies, we're going to give you the price tags and let you, the consumer, figure out what's best for you and your family. It's that simple."
On how to lower costs and improve doctor-patient relationships:
"You know, absolutely yet. And one simple thing that we haven't talked about yet is physician-owned hospitals. Let physicians own hospitals like hospitals own physicians. So why can't physicians own hospitals? What we know is, in many instances, the same surgery done at a surgical hospital is a 10th of the price being charged at a big city hospital, and the quality is better. So again, let's put patients back in charge. Let Health Care Association plans be sold across state lines. Let's put consumers back in control, and you're absolutely right - let's get government out of business. What we knew when the ACA, Obamacare, was written is that this overregulation would create a solid consolidation of industries. And we've seen that insurance companies, pharmacy benefit, man, hospital systems, it's all been consolidated now."
On Senator Curtis's remarks on immigration:
"Chris, well, I don't want to speak for Senator Curtis, but I can tell you this is that I wake up every morning as a father, a grandfather, a US senator, and I ask, Is your family safe? Is my family safe? What can I do to make my family safe that day, and after four years of Joe Biden, we've seen at least 10 million people come across our borders? There are hundreds of 1000s of violent, illegal, criminal aliens in this country. It's going to take a decade to dig out of this hole that we're in right now. So yes, of course, let's show compassion to all people, but first and foremost, I'm locked in on your safety and the well-being of your family as well, and we can just tell by what's going on across the country right now that our families are not safe. They're safer today than they were a year ago, but we have a lot of work to do yet.
"Yes, absolutely. And I think it's all a matter of priorities and perspective. That's what I was trying to say. Is to me, when I wake up, I ask, Is your family safe? Yes, I want to show compassion, but first and foremost is the safety of your family. And if you're a violent illegal alien in this country, I want to give you a swift kick in the behind and kick you out of this country. So to me, it's about priorities, safety first, America first. That's where I'm coming from."
