Message for Indigenous Veterans Day

FREDERICTON (GNB) - Premier Susan Holt and Indigenous Affairs Minister Keith Chiasson issued the following statement for National Indigenous Veterans Day:

Today is National Indigenous Veterans Day, a time for us to honour the contributions and sacrifices of Indigenous military members past and present. We remember those who courageously gave their lives to defend our country throughout history.

We are profoundly grateful to the thousands of First Nations people who protected our freedoms and upheld our democratic values.

Join us as we honour their bravery and ensure that their stories are remembered today and always.
