Winnipeg, MB - Overnight, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.
Alexander Avenue
At 1 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 400 block of Alexander Avenue.
At the scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside, using hose lines until they could safely enter the house to fight the fire. Firefighters declared the fire under control by 2:12 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services responded to provide temporary assistance to displaced residents.
The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
Mayfair Place
At 5:41 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a high-rise building on Mayfair Place. The 911 Communications Centre dispatched additional crews because the incident was in a high-rise building.
At the scene, firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire and declared it under control at 6:30 a.m. Paramedics assessed one patient and transported them to hospital in stable condition.
Most residents returned to their suites after firefighters left the scene.
The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
