Temporary Pass Closures
Sonora Pass (State Route 108) | Ebbetts Pass (State Route 4) | Monitor Pass (State Route 89)

Tuolumne County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have a temporary road closure in place next week on State Route 108 East (Sonora Pass) due to incoming storm conditions. The eastbound closure will be set at Kennedy Meadows, beginning Monday, October 13, at 11:00 a.m. through Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Caltrans will continue to keep SR-108 / Sonora Pass in intermittent closure status until our maintenance crews can reassess the roadway next week.

Calaveras-Alpine Counties- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have a temporary road closure in place next week on State Route 4 (Ebbetts Pass) due to incoming storm conditions. The eastbound closure will be set at Lake Alpine, and the westbound closure will be set at the Raymond Meadows closure gate beginning Monday, October 13, at 12:00 p.m. through Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Caltrans will continue to keep SR-4 / Ebbetts Pass in intermittent closure status until our maintenance crews can reassess the roadway next week.

Alpine County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have a temporary closure in place next week on State Route 89 (Monitor Pass) due to incoming storm conditions. The eastbound closure will be set at the State Route 4/89 junction beginning Monday, October 13, at 1:00 p.m. through Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Caltrans will continue to keep SR-89 / Monitor Pass in intermittent closure status until our maintenance crews can reassess the roadway next week.

For the latest road condition information, tune your radio to the Caltrans Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) at 530 AM, 1610 AM or 1670 AM, or call the Caltrans Road Condition Hotline at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623). Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will display information regarding the pass closures for motorists.
