The public is invited to an Open House on Tuesday, April 28, to discuss the City's Strategic Parking Plan, a comprehensive effort to improve parking access and the overall customer experience in downtown, Kingston Village, Czech Village, and New Bohemia.
The open house will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday on the first floor of the Cedar Rapids Downtown Library, 450 Fifth Avenue SE.
City staff continue to work on the Strategic Parking Plan in partnership with the consultant team at Kimley Horn. To date, the project team has completed an analysis of existing conditions, and has engaged with stakeholders to better understand current parking challenges and opportunities across the study area. This phase included data collection, parking and mobility demand analysis, and stakeholder input to help shape a set of proposed recommendations aimed at improving how parking functions across the Core Four neighborhoods.
Tuesday's Open House will allow the team to bring awareness of the plan to the public and share the recommendations.
City staff and the consultant team will be present to answer questions and receive feedback.
