Meeting at Villa Europa with Caritas Europa and Caritas Ukraine

Ambassador Martin Selmayr welcomed today at Villa Europa the Ambassadors of the EU Member States and of Ukraine, Andrii Yurash, for a meeting with Caritas Europa and Caritas Ukraine. They presented their important work in support of the Ukrainian population in the fifth years of Russia's illegal and unprovoked war of aggression. The EU stands with Ukraine as long as it takes.

In a time of immense global volatility, war and conflict, the Ambassadors jointly shared Pope Leo XIV's warning that "without respect for institutions and international agreements, humanity's destiny risks being tragically compromised." They commend the Holy See's diplomatic efforts in support of comprehensive, just and lasting peace, of multilateralism and of international law. These efforts are very much needed.
