Santa Rosa Extension Mushroom Production Workshop

The Santa Rosa County Extension Office will be hosting a Mushroom Production Workshop on Tue., Sept. 24 from 8:30-11 a.m.at the extension office, 6263 Dogwood Drive in Milton. Mushroom farming expert Mark Hainds and UF/IFAS Extension Agent Ian Stone will teach participants all they need to know about growing mushrooms.

The workshop is $40 and each registered attendee will go home with an inoculated mushroom log. Register for this workshop and other workshops in the AGRItunity Farming Series at www.eventbrite.com/e/agritunity-farming-series-tickets-989262188837.

This workshop is part of a series for beginning farmers and farmers who want to diversify their operations. Classes are offered on Tuesdays from 8:30 - 11 a.m. at the extension office. The cost ranges from $20-40 per class depending on the topic. Upcoming programs include:

  • Oct. 8 - Marketing and Cottage Foods
  • Oct. 15 - Greenhouse Production and Hydroponics
  • Oct. 22 - Beer/Wine Making
  • Oct. 29 - Agritourism
  • Nov. 5 - Fruit Production
